2. What information we collect
If you contact us through our website or by email: your name, email address, phone number, organisation and anything you include in your message.
If you sign up for our newsletter: your email address (and name, if you provide it).
If you are a candidate: your contact details, CV, employment history, qualifications, skills, the kinds of roles and locations you are interested in, and notes from our conversations with you.
If you work for an employer or organisation we speak to: your name, job title, organisation, business contact details and notes of our conversations.
When you use our website: technical information such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 9).
We do not ask for special category information (such as health or ethnicity) or criminal records information. Vetting and security checks are carried out by employers, not by us.
3. How we use your information and our lawful basis
- To respond to enquiries: our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us.
- To send our newsletter: your consent, given when you sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.
- To provide recruitment services to candidates: to find suitable roles, discuss them with you and, only with your agreement, put you forward to an employer. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interests in running a recruitment service.
- To provide services to employers and to understand the forensic recruitment market: our legitimate interest in developing and offering our services to organisations in the forensic sector. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
- To meet legal obligations: for example, record-keeping required under the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003.
- To run and improve our website: our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and secure, and consent where the law requires it for non-essential cookies.
We will never put a candidate forward for a role without their agreement.
4. Our jobs board
The vacancies on our jobs board are advertised by the employers named. Be Moore is not recruiting for these roles and does not accept or forward applications for them. Each listing links to the employer's own recruitment page. If you apply, your information goes directly to that employer and is covered by their privacy policy, not this one.
5. Who we share your information with
- VRS Recruitment, our recruitment partner, which supports the delivery of our services.
- Employers, only when you are a candidate and have agreed to be put forward for a specific role.
- Service providers who help us run our business, including website hosting and email (GoDaddy and Microsoft). They may only use your information on our instructions.
- Regulators, law enforcement or professional advisers, where we are required to by law or need to protect our legal rights.
We never sell your personal information.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
7. How long we keep your information
- Website and email enquiries: up to 12 months after our last contact, unless they lead to an ongoing relationship.
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
- Candidate information: up to 2 years after our last meaningful contact with you, after which we will delete it or ask whether you would like us to keep it.
- Employer contacts: for as long as we have a working relationship, reviewed at least every 2 years.
- Records we must keep by law: for the periods the law requires.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct inaccurate information
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict or stop using your information, including objecting to processing based on our legitimate interests
- ask us to transfer your information to another organisation
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email hannah@bemooreforensicrecruitment.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
9. Cookies
Our website uses cookies to make it work and to understand how visitors use it. You can manage non-essential cookies through the cookie banner on our site or your browser settings.
10. Keeping your information secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure, password-protected systems and limiting access to those who need it.
11. Complaints
If you have any concerns about how we handle your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
